Gift Box Ft. Romantic Roses | FB Live

Hi Beautiful People,

I am sharing with you today a beautiful gift box made during the facebook live session.
The box is made of card stock and embellished with fussy cutout elements and tons of layerings.

To start with I am using Romantic Roses 12x12 pattern paper pack from Dress My Craft
I have selected two different designs of the papers. One for my box and one for my lid. Here are the dimensions for the box -

Box - 12x12 inches paper size, scored at 3inches on all four sides
Lid - 10 1/8th inch square, scored at 1 inch and 2 inch on all four sides.

To know how to make the box watch the live session here - http://bit.ly/2meUAGi

Let's take a closer look at the box -

I hope you enjoyed this project and are inspired to make your own gift boxes for this festive season.

Until Next Time

XOXO

Mixed Media Journal Cover

Hola beautiful crafters,

I am back with another mixed media project for you all. I have recently created a mixed media journal cover using cute miniatures related to beauty and fashion.

I started with covering my journal with some texture paste using a stencil here and there on the front only. Next i adhered all my metal embellishments and miniatures using heavy body gel and let them dry over night. I next covered my front with heavy gesso black.

I then began adding colors, starting with impasto paint in the shade crimson. I only used dry brushing technique while applying all my colors. I then went in with Azure impasto paint. Next i added some highlights with metallic paint in the color fuchsia pink. Once all the paints dried i added more highlights using art alchemy waxes in the colors vintage gold and Indian pink. Lastly, I topped the flower centers with art pebbles painted with fuchsia pink metallic paint.

On the back of the journal I adhered tissue paper from Finnabair using some gel medium.

Do leave a comment in the section below if you liked this project and do share your projects inspired by this one.

PS - this is my entry to the art recipe august challenge by Finnabair.

Until next time
XOXO

Live Your Dreams - Mixed Media Layout

Hello beautiful crafters,

Today, I have designed a mixed media layout for you all based on Mixed Media Academy Challenge's June’s mood board – Pastel Summer challenge. I was so glad to be invited by Priya Mishra and the MMA team to guest design this month for their challenge blog.

Lets dive into the tutorial -
Step 1 – distress the edges of 12x12 pattern paper & ink using distress oxide ink. Add a coat of clear gesso on top.

Step 2 – Using crackle texture paste and stencil make a design here and there on the paper.

Step 3 – Smoosh some distress oxide inks in the shades of yellow and pink, on the craft mat. Spray some water on it and add the color using paint brush on the textured area.

Step 4 – Once dried, add some washi tape torn randomly.

Step 5 – Using a dark color distress oxide ink and another stencil make an impression over the washi tape. You may choose to stamp as well in this step.

Step 6 – Lastly, embellish using paper flowers, some fussy cut out flowers, some die cut out foliage along with bows made with satin twine.

Here are some close-ups –

I hope you liked this layout as much as I enjoyed making it. Don’t forget to participate in the June monthly challenge at MMA & stand a chance to win some exciting craft goodies.

Until Next Time

XOXO
